So Charlie and I went to a market in the coastal town of Fremantle right outside Perth. There was a farmer's market, with lots of local produce and things like organic lamb sausages and a gourmet cheese stall. If you read the tags on the cheeses in the picture you will see clearly marked "Midnight Moon" and "Lamb Chopper," which are the cheeses of Cypress Grove, a company owned and founded by Mary Keehn, my friend Jolene's mom. That's right, Mary is not content to dominate the US gourmet cheese market, which she has been doing for years already; she has gone global.
The next day, Charlie and I went for a stroll in downtown Perth, which was at that time holding the Perth International Arts Festival. We read a big poster and, lo and behold, it announced performances of the play, "Six Characters in Search of an Author," directed by none other than Rupert Goold, husband to one of Charlie's university mates, Kate. Rupert Goold is the next big thing. Don't take my word for it, just read Qantus' February in-flight magazine. He's in there, too and they call him the "next big thing." So, remember that name, Rupert Goold. You soon will be hearing and seeing everywhere, if you haven't already.
We couldn't be prouder of either one.
