Palolem's beach is filled with makeshift plywood beach huts. It is hard-hit by monsoons each year, and so the government forces the "hotels" to dismantle the huts at the end of each season and rebuild again the following year. We stayed in a two-story, rickety hut with a wrap-around balcony that was over a sarong shop right on the beach. The whole thing shakes when anyone moves, including rolling over in bed. This photo is the view from our balcony, which made it all worthwhile.
Sadly, Charlie has had a bout of Delhi belly, and had to spend a whole day inside. He did come out for a cricket game on the beach at sunset though.
